Synopsis

Martin Wheeler’s work as film composer straddles both sound and music. In "Disneyland, mon vieux pays natal" just as in "Age of Uprising: The Legend of Michael Kohlhaas" (for which he won a César for Best Original Music in 2014) his compositions are lodged deep in the very substance of the sound of each film. He brings tensions into play, layering subtle yet complex threads into a rich mesh (never over the top) that gradually convey their nuances over time. Here, once again, we are enthralled by his finely tuned soundscapes.
