His film examines the creative act with great subtlety, framed in a highly inspired form throughout, and paints the wondrous portrait of an artist nearing the end of his life.

Georges Rouquier

Georges Rouquier est né en 1909 dans l'Hérault, et mort en 1989. Il est rendu célèbre par son diptyque "Farrebique" (1947) et 38 ans plus tard "Biquefarre", fictions tournées avec des non-comédiens, de sa famille et du voisinage. Ces fictions documentées sont des chroniques de la vie paysanne dans le Rouergue de l'après-guerre. "Farrebique" obtient le Prix de la critique internationale à Cannes. Georges Rouquier a également réalisé des documentaires sur les métiers, oscillant toujours entre fiction et réalité documentaire.
