Synopsis

This film probes the taboo of virginity in Senegalese society, positioning the camera head-to-head with the subject to tackle the issues openly. The director takes an upfront approach, asking frank questions from the standpoint of her own clearly traumatic personal experience. She films men and women describing inhibition as a living presence that fills their daily existence and world view. Their words echo her own audacity: when you see her filming and hear her speak, no holds barred, you can tell she has got guts.
