Festival international du film de Locarno
This is Eric Baudelaire’s second collaboration with Japanese avant-garde director Masao Adachi after his previous film, The Anabasis... (2011), but this time Adachi merely sketched out a story inspired by the years he spent in Lebanon, around which Baudelaire had to compose, seek, and explore the memory of the Lebanese civil war and of reminiscent love wounds. With this film, the Locarno festival treats us to the great work of a “Filmmaker of the present”, a work imbued with melancholic beauty, striving to make an archaeology of memory.
