Ana Maria Gomes is right at the centre of the mystery surrounding her uncle’s disappearance, and is set on one thing: explaining Antonio’s silence, whatever the cost, to soothe his mother. Gomes’ film twists its way down whimsical paths, navigating its way through the myths built up around her uncle’s life in Brazil, and shaking up her family in the process. What if Antonio returned home to his mother? What would he do on top of those (albeit stunning) mountains? This exceedingly lively and clever film won the Grand Prix for Best Short Film at the Entrevue Belfort International Film Festival in 2015.
